  • 6 California Prunes
  • 4 cups (950 mL) hot water
  • 3 tbsp (45 g) cacao powder
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) maple syrup
  • 1 cup (235 mL) milk of your choosing (I use oat milk)
  • 1/4 tsp (1 mL) vanilla syrup
  • ½ tsp (3 g) cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp (17 g) nut butter (I love almond butter, can sub for tahini or leave out)
  • dash of cayenne
  • dash of ginger
  • dash of cloves
  • dash of salt


  1. Put the water in a kettle to boil.
  2. Meanwhile add all of the ingredients to a blender, except for the milk*
  3. When the water is hot, add it to the blender.
  4. Blend for about 30 seconds or until smooth. Make sure to leave an escape route for the steam.
  5. Froth the milk of your choosing in a milk frother (or add it to the blender in step 2).
  6. Pour everything into your favourite mug or take it to go in a thermos and enjoy on your next adventure!
