Ingredients

For the Smoothie Base:

  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 5-6 California Prunes, pitted
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (vanilla or plain)
  • 1/4 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for added sweetness)

Toppings (Feel free to mix and match):

  • Sliced fresh fruit (bananas, berries, kiwi, etc.)
  • Granola or toasted oats
  • Chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, etc.)
  • Shredded coconut
  • Chia seeds or flax seeds
  • Additional California Prunes, sliced

Directions

  1. Prepare the California Prunes:
    • Start by pitting the California Prunes if they haven’t already been pitted. You can do this by simply cutting them in half and removing the pits.
  2. Blend the Smoothie Base:
    • In a blender, combine the frozen mixed berries, pitted California Prunes, ripe banana, Greek yogurt, milk, and honey (if using).
    • Blend until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a little more milk to reach the desired thickness.
  3. Customize the Smoothie Bowl:
    • Pour the smoothie base into bowls.
    • Now comes the fun part! Let the kids customize their own bowls by arranging their choice of sliced fresh fruit, granola, chopped nuts, shredded coconut, chia seeds, flax seeds, and additional sliced California Prunes on top of the smoothie base.
  4. Enjoy:
    • Once the bowls are beautifully assembled, it’s time to dig in! Provide each child with a spoon and let them enjoy their personalized California Prune Paradise Smoothie Bowls.
